CNA Classes in Montana

In order to enroll in a CNA training program in Montana, a person does not need to have a high school diploma, nor do they have to have a GED, although it is highly recommended. Training is provided in a number of facilities, including nursing facilities, community colleges, and private colleges. If an applicant chooses to study in a nursing facility, they will have to undergo a series of blood tests to make sure they are immune to certain types of diseases. This is to protect both the student and the potential patients in their care. Submission to a criminal background check is a must, and no previous records of either abuse of a patient or neglect of a patient can be had.

The state of Montana mandates that CNA training programs consist of a minimum of seventy-five (75) hours of training, although most training programs have at least eighty (80) hours of training. The programs all consist of classroom instruction which consists of forty-five to fifty hours of training, and hands on or clinical training that is usually done in a nursing facility. The clinical portion of instruction is generally supervised by a registered nurse, and consists of twenty-five hours of training. Students must pass their program of choice in order to be eligible to take the states certification examination.

All of the programs of training in Montana cover at minimum in their training, things such as emergency care, medical assisting training, assisting patients with everyday care needs, infection control and protection, blood pressure, among other things.

The total cost of a training program could range from $1000 to $2000.
